Blooming Beautiful Borders!

A painter uses paints... A GreenWitch uses plants...

Flower borders bring the 'Wow!' factor to any garden...

I can weed, dig, condition with topsoil and compost, as well as plant up your existing beds or dig out new ones which suit the space and flank your lawn with gorgeous colour and scent!

Do you only want only white plants? Do you want a riot of colour? Do you like straight lines and symmetry or sensuous curves undulating around the lawn? Deep shade? Full sun? No problem... I can bring the magic touch to the most unlovely looking space...

Plants are carefully chosen for colour, texture, height and suitability for each flower bed I design. My expert knowledge ensures correct planting and spacing - knowing how big each plant will grow is key to making sure that your border is full but plants are not fighting for space...

Spring bulbs, Summer bedding, Autumn berries or Winter Evergreens... Let me mix and match the planting to give you stunning flower beds which will give you year round colour and entice you into the garden to see what's new each day...

From bare to blooming...

Purple and white (and a little bit extra...)

Lovely client has a huge and beautifully landscaped garden but something is missing... Plants! Like most of my clients her gardener mows the grass and cuts the hedges brilliantly... but planting is something he doesn't know about. Two large bare beds flank the steps leading up from the patio to the lawn.  They could be a gorgeous display of colour but currently they look neglected and empty...

Client would like more colour but feels anxious about planting... she loves purple and white and would like to stick to this restricted colour palette... which isn't the easiest brief especially when there are lots of purple and white plants she doesn't like.

Patience and passion are key here. I start by clearing and tidying the beds, then extend and curve the bed near the fence to echo the other side.  We start the planting gently - at first I only plant Alliums. Client is delighted to see colour at last and gains courage to try more. After multiple messages back and forth discussing possible plants, followed by a visit to the garden centre we find most of what we are looking for.

Now I have a better idea of her taste I can spot further plants when I am visiting garden centres for other clients and soon the beds are full of purple and white (and a splash of orange - which is outside of her Comfort Zone but absolutely makes the planting 'pop'). Wrought iron obelisks are added to give height where the concrete fence prevents attaching anything for climbers to grasp - and purple and white Clematis will soon be bringing the colour theme to new heights in every way possible...
